How to Export a Bank Statement
from Xero in 3 Steps
Xero lets you export uncoded bank statement lines as a CSV or PDF in a few clicks. Here's exactly where to find that screen, plus what to do if you're trying to go the other way.
STEP 01
Open Uncoded Statement Lines
In Xero, go to Accounting > Bank accounts, then click Uncoded Statement Lines
STEP 02
Pick the account and dates
Choose the bank account and set your From / To date range
STEP 03
Export CSV or PDF
Click Export. CSV opens directly in Excel, PDF gives a printable copy
Exporting from Xero (getting data out)
The Uncoded Statement Lines export covers transactions that came in through bank feeds or statement imports but haven't been reconciled yet. It doesn't include lines you've already coded and reconciled, and it can't export anything that was never entered into Xero in the first place. If that's what you need, the 3 steps above are the whole process.
Importing into Xero (getting data in)
If you're actually trying to do the reverse (you have a PDF bank statement from your bank and want it inside Xero), that's an import, not an export, and Xero's Import a Statement screen won't accept a PDF directly.
